Delegate Terms and Conditions

  1. I shall be present and available at the Queensland University of Technology, Gardens Point Campus, for as much as possible during the following times :
    1. 12:00 – 19:00 hours on Friday, April 9th, 2010; and
    2. 9:00 – 17:00 hours on Saturday, April 10th, 2010; and
    3. 9:00 – 17:00 hours on Sunday, April 11th, 2010.
  2. I shall participate to the best of my ability in Committee Sessions and in the production of The Working Paper. To this end, I shall, at a minimum:
    1. Produce a 700-word article on my assigned committee topic, which I shall submit to my Editor by 15:00 hours, Saturday, April 10th, 2010, and which will be my own original work;
    2. Familiarise myself with the BrizMUN Rules of Procedure;
    3. Represent the position of my assigned publication to the best of my knowledge.
  3. I shall, at all times throughout BrizMUN 2010 (including social events), uphold the spirit of the United Nations, and treat my fellow Delegates, Directors and Secretariat members with the dignity and respect to which this entitles them. Specifically:
    1. I will refrain from making personal slights against other Delegates, restricting all debate to discussion of the positions of countries, rather than individuals;
    2. I will refrain from using offensive language in Committee Sessions;
    3. I will follow any reasonable instructions from Directors or Secretariat members.
  4. I shall, at all times throughout BrizMUN 2010 (including social events), uphold all laws of the State of Queensland. Specifically:
    1. I will not bring any illicit substances or weapons of any sort whatsoever to any event associated with BrizMUN 2010;
    2. I will not at any time behave in a manner which endangers the life or wellbeing of any of my fellow Delegates, Directors or Secretariat members;
    3. I will not attempt to attend the social event on the night of Saturday, April 10th, 2010, if I am under the age of 18 years on that date.
  5. I certify that, to the best of my knowledge, all information provided in the registration form is accurate and complete. Specifically:
    1. I have provided my correct date of birth;
    2. I have provided complete information about any special dietary requirements or allergies of which it is necessary that the Secretariat be aware. I acknowledge that any failure to do so may result in an inability on the part of the Secretariat to cater to my special requirements, for which I will not hold them responsible. I acknowledge that any information I provide concerning special dietary requirements or allergies may be shared with the restaurant at which my Committee Dinner is to be held.
  6. I shall, upon confirmation of my registration by the Secretariat, provide full payment of the Registration Fee for BrizMUN 2010. I acknowledge that if payment is not made by the due date, as specified and notified by the Secretariat, my place at BrizMUN 2010 may be cancelled.
  7. I shall, if I wish to cancel my place at BrizMUN 2010, notify the Secretariat in writing (at info@brizmun.org). I acknowledge that after 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, my Registration Free shall be non-refundable in the event of my cancellation or failure to attend, with or without notice in writing.
  8. I acknowledge that any failure to abide by these Terms and Conditions may result in my exclusion from BrizMUN 2010 at the discretion of the Secretaries-General. If I am excluded from the conference, I acknowledge that no refund of my Registration Fee will be provided.
  9. I acknowledge that I participate in BrizMUN 2010, and any events associated with the conference, entirely at my own risk. I acknowledge that the BrizMUN Secretariat is in no way responsible for the safety of my person or my property, and I indemnify the Secretariat of BrizMUN 2010 against liability for any injury or loss, personal or pecuniary, which may occur as a result of my participation in BrizMUN 2010, whether as a result of negligence or otherwise.
  10. I consent to any photographs, video or other audio/visual material taken of myself by any member of the Secretariat at any event associated with BrizMUN 2010 being used and published in the future for promotional and/or marketing purposes.
  11. I acknowledge that BrizMUN 2010 is a conference of the Brisbane Model United Nations Association, a Not-for-Profit organisation.
  12. I agree to all of the Terms and Conditions outlined in this document.
